Peggy, a resident ambassador at Ravines by Alavida Lifestyles, has resided at the Ravines for nearly a decade – she shares her thoughts and experiences with us as we delve into her journey at the Ravines, her interactions with the staff and fellow residents, her favorite activities, and what makes it a truly special place to call home.
Q: How have you been enjoying your time here at the Ravines?
I’ve been enjoying my time here for almost a decade now! It all began when my husband and I attended a seminar and had the chance to tour the retirement residences and upcoming senior suites. We immediately made the decision to sell our condo and move into the senior suites here at Ravines. It has been wonderful ever since.
Q: Can you tell us a little about the staff?
The staff here at Ravines are absolutely fantastic. I have never had any issues with them. Whether it’s the friendly reception team, the management staff, or the dining room staff, they have always been incredibly helpful. They’re all excellent!
Q: Are there any programs or activities you enjoy participating in?
Absolutely! I make it a point to participate in the exercise sessions four times a week. Additionally, I join the aquafit classes three times a week.
Q: What connections have you made with other residents?
Given the length of time I have been here, I have had the privilege of getting to know almost everybody! One particular couple I met here ended up becoming great travel companions. We went on trips to Jamaica together for two consecutive years. It’s been wonderful to build relationships and create lasting memories with fellow residents. I have also had the chance to encourage others to join us on various tours and trips which were sometimes about 5-10 of us. We’ve traveled with quite a few of the residents here.
Q: What do you like most about the overall atmosphere and environment here?
The best part about living at the Ravines is the friendliness and community. You never have to worry about feeling lonely or isolated. If someone wants to do something, all they have to do is step downstairs, and they will find a variety of activities to participate in or someone to talk to. There’s always something happening, so you never feel confined to your room.
Q: Would you recommend Ravines to others looking for a similar environment?
Absolutely! I have been a strong advocate for the Ravines and have recommended it to numerous people, probably more than anyone else has! In fact, several people have moved in here based on my recommendation.
Q: What are some of your favorite aspects of living at the Ravines?
There are so many things I love about living at Ravines – it’s a friendly atmosphere. Additionally, the community offers an array of amenities that go above what you would typically find elsewhere. I also appreciate the organized activities and bus trips that you can take especially if you don’t have a car, you can still go out to shopping malls and other places. It’s so convenient.
