Qualifications Required:

  •  Registered Practical Nurse currently licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification.

  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Responsible for the coordination and case management of clients.

  • Proficient in nursing care documentation.

  • Facilitate and participate in patient/family education utilizing adult education principles.

  • Able to respond to crisis situations with demonstrated critical thinking.

  • Able to comply with the physical demands of the assisted living and cognitive care floors.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team player.

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic.

  • Demonstrated client-focused care.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in gerontology nursing an asset.

  • Knowledge and experience in palliative care an asset.

General Manager, Park Place Retirement Residence

Alavida Lifestyles is a company of luxurious and well-respected Retirement Residences, serving seniors in the Ottawa community.  We are currently seeking a General Manager for our Park Place Retirement Residence and Seniors’ Suites location which features full-service, independent and assisted living.

The Successful Candidate Will have a minimun of five years previous managerial experience, preferably in a retirememt home or with equivalent knowledge and relevant experience. Post-secondary education in a relevant field preferred. excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong leadership skills are essentials to this postion.  

In this role, you will direct and oversee the overall operations of the residence, which includes financial, physical and human resources, provide support and assistance to our residents and their families and oversee all elements of the retirement home. These are key disciplines in our residences for bringing quality, safety and efficiency results. 

Our General Manager will join our team of professionals that will work together to create and maintain the Best in Retirement Living.

Registered Practical Nurse: Part time, with potential to move to full time position

Job Summary:

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) shall provide professional nursing care to residents and supervise the care given by Personal Support Workers on a 24 hour basis.  Work experience with dementia residents an asset.
Must be available for 12 hr day and night shifts.
